Efficient municipal pipeline maintenance is critical for reducing water loss and ensuring reliable urban water supply. To address the challenge of locating hidden leaks in underground pipelines, Hunan Puqi Geologic Exploration Equipment Institute has introduced the PQ125 Series Acoustic Leak Detector, a smart device designed for accurate municipal water pipeline leak detection.
The PQ125 system integrates multi-sensor acoustic technology and intelligent signal processing algorithms to capture subtle leak signals from underground pipelines. With a frequency detection range of 1 Hz–10 kHz for indoor inspection and 1 Hz–7 kHz for outdoor environments, the device can effectively identify leak sounds across different pipeline materials and installation depths.
Powered by a 32-bit processing unit with 48 kHz sampling rate and 24-bit ADC, the detector analyzes acoustic signals in real time through time-domain waveform visualization. Field engineers can compare signal strength across multiple points using the system’s 16-point positioning mode, improving the accuracy of leak identification.
The device supports detection depths of up to 8 meters and achieves positioning accuracy of ±0.1 m indoors and ±0.5 m outdoors, making it suitable for municipal water network inspections.
With its portable design, 7-inch LCD display (1024 × 600 resolution) and 8-hour battery operation, the PQ125 Series provides municipal maintenance teams with a reliable and efficient solution for locating underground pipeline leaks.
